Common Name or Meaning The Appendaged Eria

Found in Malaysia, Java and Sumatra in montane forests in forks and tree branches of trees at elevations around 1500 to 2000 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with close set, ovoid pseudobulbs enveloped basally by 5 imbricate, brown leafless sheaths and carrying 3 to 4 apical, erect, lanceolate, thick, unevenly and obtusely bilobed apically, gradually narrowing below into the periolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on 1 to 2, wooly hairy, red, 8.6" [23.5 cm] long, to 50 flowered inflorescence arising from near the apex of the pseudobulb and with large, greenish yellow, reflexed, concave floral bracts.
