Found in New Guinea at elevations around 2400 meters as a medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to simple, rigid, leafy throughout stems carrying many, erect-patent, glabrous, rigid, elliptic, obtuse and unequally bilobed apically leaves that blooms in the spring on a very short, subsessile, 2 flowered inflorescence carrying short lived flowers.

Schlechter states that the flowers are yellowish, red spotted and the column foot has a red spot and a red callus .
