Common Name The Golden Bulbophyllum

Flower Size 1 1/2" [3.75 cm]

Found in Thailand, Malaysia, Borneo, Sumatra and the Philippines at elevations around 100 to 1200 meters found on mangrove trees as a hot to cool growing epiphyte with a creeping rhizome with 1/4 to 3/4" [1 to 2 cm] between each clustered ovoid, grooved, dark olive pseudobulb carrying a single, apical purplish leaf with a blunt apex and the base narrowing into a petiole that blooms in early spring, summer and fall on a solitary, lateral to erect, slender, basal, to 6" [15 cm] long, purplish, umbellate inflorescence drooping, shoe-shaped, fragrant flowers occuring .

A hot to cool growing species that needs partial shade, high humidity and good air circulation.
