Common Name or Meaning The Sword-Shaped Leaf Bletia

Flower Size 1.2" [3 cm]

Found in Nayarit, Durango, Jalisco states of Mexico on rocky and grassy hillsides and banks in dry oak or oak-pine forests at elevations of 1500 to 2500 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with erect, ovoid corms carrying 1 to 4 [at flowering] always very long, narrow, attenuate to the sheaths below leaves that blooms in the summer through early fall on a short, loosely 1 to 5 flowered inflorescence.
