Description: Tree, up to 18 m tall. Leaves variously thin or coriaceous; lamina 6 - 13 X 2.5 - 6 cm, ovate-lanceolate to oblong-ovate, acute, subacuminate, rounded to obtuse at base, entire, somewhat undulate, glabrous, slightly shiny or not. Male spikes 3 - 5 together, up to 5 cm long, frequently shorter, slender. Female flowers shortly pedicellate in very short racemes. Fruit 1.3 - 1.5 X 1 - 1.1 cm, subglobose, pointed with persistant style, glabrous, indehiscent, red when ripe. Seeds solitary (only immature seen).
