In 2011 and again in 2016 the Arthur Rylah Institute for Environmental Studies undertook surveys of sections of the flora found on the block.
A total of 169 plants were recorded in 2011 and 2016. Approximately the same number of plants were recorded in 2011 and 2016 (127 and 124 respectively), despite the comparatively dry period prior to the 2011 monitoring and the late winter/early spring rainfall prior to the 2016 monitoring. One hundred and forty-seven native species were recorded at the sites across the two monitoring periods. Twenty-two weed species were recorded at the sites during the same period, with slightly fewer weeds present in 2016 (13 species) compared to that in 2011 (17 species).
The plants are listed below. Umbrella Wattle has been nominated as ‘threatened’ under the FFG Act. Frosted Goosefoot and Toothed Raspwort are classified as ‘vulnerable’, and Twining Purslane, Desert Frosted Goosefoot, Large-fruited Millotia, and White Twin-leaf are classified as ‘rare’, on the DELWP advisory list of threatened species.
