The photo above shows a cluster of fronds of Rocky Mt. Woodsia growing from loose rocks on the Aiken Lava Flow at the Snipes Mt. Trailhead on the southern slopes of Mt. Adams........May 28, 2005. The fronds are twice-tapered, meaning they are widest at central frond, tapering to both ends of the frond.
