Two photos showing close-ups of the flattened, stiff, inflorescence of crested wheatgrass as seen along the Zumwalt-Imnaha Rd to the northeast of Enterprise, OR......July 9, 2007. Evidently this species is very closely related to desert crested wheatgrass (Agropyron desertorum) and is largely indistinguishable from it. Unfortunately I have no information on this latter species to help differentiate the two species.
