Spreading subshrub, 20-50cm tall, with numerous stiff, branching purplish stems bearing tiny grey-green leaves up to 4mm long. Flowerheads l-2cm long, at the tips of branches, the bracts purple and small. Flowers 1cm long, pale pink, summer to early autumn. Crete. In spite of its comparatively small flowerheads and tiny leaves, it is worth growing in a hot place or in the cold house. It will probably not survive a hard winter in the garden.
