A low cushion forming plant. Leaves narrowly linear, 6-19mm long with toothed margins. The solitary, often stalkless flowers are rose to carmine pink, 8-14mm across, the petals dentate and yellowish beneath. The calyx is purple. Allied to D. erinaceus. Mountain screes and rocks from 1900-2500m. Endemic to Turkey.
