Botanical Description

tufted and mat-forming, 5-10cm in height. Leaves lanceolate to ovate, either all entire or some three to five-lobed. Flowers pink to violet, up to 1.5cm long, summer to early autumn. C.d. var. camphorum has longer narrower leaves with or without a few small teeth. C.d. var. larsenii (syn. C. larsenii) has most leaves deeply three to seven-lobed and some with the lobes cleft. Western North America in alpine volcanic screes. [Pl.117]
