Forms loose cushions 2-12cm high. Leaves small, oblanceolate to oval, crenate, hirsute on both sides. Petioles softly hairy and expanded broadly at the base to clasp the stem. More or less free and conspicuously whiskery involucral bracts contain umbels averaging ten greenish-white flowers. Venezuela to Peru, 2200-4200m.
