Hymenocallis caribaea (Jacq.) Salisb.

Herb from a bulbous base; leaves linear, with parallel venation; inflorescence a scapose simple umbel; flowers white, perianth elements fused basally forming an elongate tube, separating into gracefully drooping linear lobes; filament bases united forming a funnel-like membrane at the apex of the perianth tube; fruit a capsule.
