Yet another exciting day at Velammal NewGen School,Medavakkam...

"My son used to be very reticent and to be honest I thought  that nothing much was taught at Velammal school. Only today I realized that my son has learnt a lot and how much the teacher has taught. Thanks Velammal. He was a real skill expressive champion today. The school must conduct many days like this to make parents understand our child and the school better", exclaimed a parent. 

Skill Expressive Champions-Culmination Day was a much awaited day for both the parents and teachers.2nd February 2019 was the day fixed for the wee little students to demonstrate and showcase whatever they have learnt at school this year. Invitations were sent and the classes were decked up to accommodate all the parents and also have space for the students to perform. 

      On the day the vibrant and energetic students were all around. They sang, danced, read, wrote, spelt, acted, counted, recited and performed various activities on the themes such as Parts of the body, Human emotions, Marine animals, Pet and Farm animals, Plant life, Community helpers, Means of transport, Fruits, Vegetables and My family. All this was done confidently by small groups of students in front of so many adults with their mobile cameras focussed on them. The young ones confidently performed storytelling, role-plays and rhymes to the amazement and cheers of their moms and dads. The rooms were filled with joy, smiles, appreciation and pride.

The parents were all the more happy to see their children having grown in knowledge and having acquired language & literary skills ,numeracy skills, personal ,social and emotional skills .Their joy knew no bounds to see their children exhibit all these skill sets as they kept applauding to their hearts’ content. The students exhibited great confidence in their presentations and showed no sign of fear. All made them look adorable and striking which was a treat to the eyes of the beholder.

It was a magical wonder to see all the 255 students of all the 10 sections of JKG exhibit their skills with much ease and grace.

Children have a special way of adding joy to our everyday life and truly it was a joyous day for all. "Days like this are 10 times better than the Report Cards the schools give, as we get to know what all our child can do", remarked a parent.

Thus this year’s Skill Expressive Champions-Culmination Day, will be etched in the minds of everyone.
